Adding VR to your next event can make a big impact on your event but it has to be done right to get the maximum benefit. In order to take full advantage of VR, the content you provide must be aligned with your goals. When done right, the immersive experience VR provides will wow your attendees. We recently were up in New York to provide HTC VIVE setups for Univision’s Up Front event at Gotham Hall in New York City. The event is geared around advertisers and to preview new media.
We setup 3 VR stations where attendees could experience being on Mars controlling one of NASA’s Mars rovers. The content highlighted Univision’s relationship with NASA and some of their available television programming. The VR content was done right and attendees were wowed by the experience. I stood by and watched the expressions of the attendees and without a doubt it was the most popular booth at the event. There was a steady line of attendees waiting to experience VR and in fact, when the event ended, there was still a line and the VR booth went on for another hour. What I saw on the faces of attendees leaving the booth was one of amazement. There were countless people that stopped to tell me that I should get in line and check out the VR because it was an amazing experience. The VR worked so well, that Univision is contracting with us again on a larger event coming up in June.
