Ways to Use Interactive Technology at Trade Shows

Ways to Use Interactive Technology at Trade Shows | HTR

Did you know that 81% of B2B trade show attendees have buying authority? You're not just getting looky-loos when you set up a trade show booth. You're trying to appeal to actual buyers.

But as you look around the trade show floor, you realize how many other businesses are vying for that same 81%. How are you going to stand out from the crowd? How are you going to attract the attention of those buyers?

The answer is surprisingly simple - Interactive technology!

You simply need to get people involved with your display to hook them. But how do you do this? Find out how to keep people in your display booth and hopefully catch some buyers in the process.

Interactive Technology Ideas

1. Self-Guided Touch Screen Tours

Before the advent of the touch screen, trade show presenters had to do their own "booth tours." You would create a special presentation and make it flashy enough to catch show-goer's attention.

This made the experience less personal. It was more like an open-air theater experience than an intimate trade show experience.

Today, at least 62% of buyers want more personalized marketing. And you can give them the kind of personalization to hook them with a touch screen tour of your product and company.

Simply set up tablets that buyers can access near the front of your booth. You can gather personal information before they embark on their tour. This gives you an opportunity to follow up on your leads after the show is over.

Components of a good self-guided touch screen tour include company videos, catalogs, and company portfolios. But don't forget to showcase the product. Give them a way to interact with the product even if it's in a virtual sense.

2. Virtual Reality

Virtual reality used to be an extremely expensive option. But with the advent of self-contained virtual reality units, such as the Oculus Quest and the HTC Vive Focus, you can easily develop an extremely immersive experience for your buyers.

Hire someone to create a virtual representation of your product. You can display use-cases for your product in real-time. If your product involves a complicated manufacturing process, you can easily give buyers a taste of what it's like to develop and manufacture your product.

With Oculus Quest especially, you can give your buyers a literal hands-on experience. The headset features the touch controllers in full six-degrees of freedom. This means they could bend down, pickup, and interact with your product as if it were there in the booth with them.

3. Augmented Reality

Augmented reality is still in its infancy. If you're picturing people wearing special goggles that look like something out of a bad sci-fi movie, you're half right.

That kind of technology might look funny, but it's extremely immersive. It uses a pass-through system which paints three-dimensional images over the real world. You could place your product right in front of your client's eyes and show off how it fits in your trade show space.
